Having a new option in the distribution to change the name of the file distributed

Having some options to change the name of the distributed file. Having the ability to include or not the datetime at the end, change the file name. Have the ability to choose the format of the datetime (add a parameter so you could choose GMT Timestamp or Server Timestamp or something else)
Would also be nice to be able to create a folder by Year-Month in order to organize the generated files, could be of course anything else than Year-Month (the usage of Global Variables could be very interesting here)

Hi- We have a customer that uses scheduler to send files to an email address and then that file is picked up by Smartsheets for slicing and dicing. The file name being unique each time it is exported is causing issues with the transfer. We need the file name to be consistent and exactly the same each time it is exported. Can we get the option to modify and remove the date and unique identifier on the scheduler export?

"Ability to control the name of the file in the distribution" (suggested by Edwin Yu on 2022-08-02), including upvotes (1) and comments (0), was merged into this suggestion.

Feedback from a customer using version 2022 R1.6:
When the distribution creates an output file it places a unique identifier as the current date at the end of the file. The date that gets added to this file is UTC date. This works well because it creates a unique value for that output file.
The downside to this is that if you run the report from a different time zone than utc, it might display the wrong date when the distribution runs later at night.
For example if I run a distribution in an Est time zone at 10 pm it will in fact give it a date time stamp for the next day. In theory this does not sound like a problem however some people us that time stamp on the distribution to know when the file ran and it is giving a false information.
Can we either put the time stamp of the server instead of UTC to the distribution. Or use the time stamp that is used when creating the distribution.

Feedback from HKC. customer wants to save it on a shared network drive with a fixed name. they dont want to have execution time at the end of the file..

Feedback from BE customer - The actual unique key at the end of the files generated by the Distribution is not clear. We would to have the possibility to modify the key parameters if the unique key remain mandatory.

This feature has been released in the version July 2023 (2023 Release 8). You will be able to customize the name of each view added in a distribution. The possibility to use Global variables or Special Variables in the custom name and in the Consolidated Report is also available.
